Honestly, I'm crying! THIS would be such an amazing way to end the story. THIS should have been the ending. THIS is what we deserved.

Really curious what you'd do in part 2, because as this rewrite is, it lacks the entire reason for AoT, hope. I feel like this rewrite just aims for spectacle over the main themes of the story. Everyone just killing each other and a true total genocide of helpless hate with no room or hope for redemption within the human spirit leads to a pretty pointless story for the build up of themes Yams established over a decade. I think this would work incredibly well as a sort of genocide route akin to undertale, with the OG ending being the neutral/pacifist run.

There's so much good in this rewrite, but multiple times, and at 1:02:30 especially, you fail to understand a key part of Eren's character. He never wanted to hurt his friends. Although he was mainly convincing himself when he told Armin that, it was also true throughout the entire story. Eren was a dangerously selfish idiot, which is why the rumbling was the only option to him, but he never tried to put his friends in harms way, hence why when Sasha died and the deterministic timeline was confirmed to him, he lost all hope for any other option. Him killing Hange doesn't make any sense for his character, he never wanted his friends to die.

I’m surprised no one mentioned that the reason the comic feels so rushed in the beginning is because it had to be. This comic was Robert Kirkman first big hit, and in the beginning, sells for invincible weren’t doing so great and kirkman wasn’t sure if invincible would be able to continue since sells were low. He initially planned for Omni man to murder the guardians of the globe around issue 20 but from the looks of it they weren’t going to make it. So with advice from a friend, Kirkman did his plot twist next issue(issue 7) and the comics picked up traction and kirkman was able to continue telling the story he wanted to tell.

One thing I would add to this is after Iron Man snaps, he enters the soul stone like Thanos did in Infinity War. They were initially going to do this in the real version by bringing in an older Morgan Stark, but I think a better option would be Yinsen. Not only would it make more sense, considering that he’s dead and Morgan isn’t, it also would tie the beginning of the MCU together with the end. The two have a conversation with each other. Two of the things that Yinsen could say are: “I see you took my words to heart. You certainly didn’t waste your life.” and “What you did…That is your legacy, Stark. Your life’s work. And it’s how you go out. The last act of defiance by the great Tony Stark.”

I feel as though the energy consumption portion of the video was a bit misleading. While yes I think that in many cases the environmental impact of cryptocurrency was greatly exaggerated and that other things produce more emissions (Although I think A/C was a bad example given that its almost impossible to know how much of that power consumption is driven by necessity, Although I Definitely do except that more power is spent on frivolous things as a whole and crypto is currently not even close to the biggest Co2 producer) the main issue is that if cryptocurrency were more widely adopted it would be much less energy efficient than traditional banks. In addition, currently it's far too volatile to be a real alternative to fiat currency. Also this is just my opinion but I don't think that nfts are signatures in any meaningful way. It feels to me like if you bought a book off of Amazon and you're order number was printed on the cover. It feels like it lacks the parasocial value that most signatures have. I also don't really understand your criticism of other youtubers being socialist as though that on its own discredits them especially since none of them obfuscate that fact.

I hope there's a twist somewhere because I dread that Historia's entire arc becomes that she had a baby with her bully and then she died because Ymir hated everyone and everything. Historia is just as much a main character as everyone else in the Alliance and Eren. She out of everyone in the not good original ending deserved way more. Also Eren did not want to end all conflict with the rumbling. He wanted to end this specific 2000 year old cycle of revenge that has bogged down him and everyone he has ever known ever since they were born. To take these children out of the forest that their forefathers left for them to deal with but there will always be conflict and Eren knows this. The idea that if there's two people still alive on this earth there will be conflict is an interesting philosophy to play with but having it be the end all be all message of Attack On Titan is fucking insane when there's already so many philosophies that just become meaningless because of it.

i do like the og ending, but this is a million times better in everyway, fixes plot holes, ties loose ends and just feels more like aot, i'd love to see this animated but that'll probably never happen, which does make me sad

THANK YOU! i had so many issues with the ending and would get the most inconsistent replies from its supporters. its hard to voice complaints without offering solutions like you have here. this helps so much!

Overall, I really enjoyed this rewrite, the reworking of the rules for the Titan powers was really well thought out. One thing that I think would have helped in communicating more clearly the aspect of whose titan fluid was imbued into whom, and what the implications for that are, would have been to include something like hierarchy diagrams/ a family tree to denote who has been imbued with whose' shifter fluid. It would help provide a nice clear visual breakdown of how the powers were shifting.

39:56 love the idea that in order for it to not be a writing flaw the best way to introduce a characters spouse when they happen to not be straight is to make everyone in the group think that they’re a criminal. Love most of the video but your idea of “for something LGBTQ+ to be involved it has to have reasons” is kinda wrong? These things are just traits of a character you don’t need a reason to be gay in real life so why does a character? To me, it’s better for a character to just be gay or be trans than have an in depth analysis on why that character is that way because to normalize it means to include it without needing to explain it. Would a character need a reason to be straight, or do characters like Toph from ATLA need a reason they’re blind?

Honestly I did like the ending of aot, but this is too well done with filling in some ploy holes and making this scenario so interesting and digestible to listen too. Also this would be like 4 hours long being the added benefit.

Man,these rewrite is good and very different from what i have seen from the other rewrites even if i found some decisions weird is still refreshing,the eren and mikasa fight reminded me of skyler and walter in breaking bad a lot,which is fitting considering isayama took a lot of inspiration from it to aot i can really see it on this rewrite.

ngl I kinda dig this total and complete Rumbling ending, where even Paradis gets destroyed. It's consistent with Ymir since it were Eldians themselves that enslaved her, so wanting to kill everyone isn't that far fetched. I still think AnR might have been the better ending, since it would have been more consistent with the themes of freedom and the cup of iniquity, but with that ending you end up with the rest of the characters that don't really get concluded and the spectacle factor would have been lacking.

What I think is Jon died. In the books there is another son of Raegar and Tyrion is with him, no with Danaerys. And they conquered a castell in westores. Sansa is in the castle of her aunt, they send another girl to Ramsey. Catlheen, I'am not quite shure about that, but there is a chance, that Donderion brings he back to live.

The only thing I’m incredibly worried about regarding this rewrite is Historia. You’ve written her out of the story and barely mentioned her. You also included saying Mikasa confessing would’ve changed Eren but honestly I feel that goes against his character. Erens reasoning for the rumbling would not change if Mikasa confessed or not the problem still happens. She ultimately changes nothing and it’s why Eren says later in the final episode that no matter what he had to do the rumbling. I like most of what you’ve done but this combined with the lack of Historia so far and honestly her connection with Eren/plot makes me worried. I still think you’ve done great and it’s not like you can’t revise later plus could come back in part two. Keep up the good work! i got recommended this video and I wanna start off this comment by saying i dislike video essays a lot, a lot of it is overly long pretentious schlock. however, I liked this video a lot, you don't always try to sound like the smartest guy in the room, you have actual EXPERIENCE in the thing you're talking about, and your jokes are actually pretty funny. i know this video is 2 years old which is ancient in online time but I just wanted to say this video was a fun time, good work.

People will say Erens character was butchered at the last chapter, some will say he was butchered when the rumbling started, me, my third eye awoke when I saw exactly where isyama was doing with Eren and turning him into a """""villain""""" for no reason. Eren was butchered right at the end of the Return to Shinganshina arc, That's when Eren stopped being a good compelling character and became a boring 2d cut out "thinks 4 steps ahead of everyone" boring schlock of a "character".

“this scene or Eren crying ruined Eren development” as if his character arc was to become an edgy and stoic chad. That’s the most in character thing he did post time skip. the way i expected eren to break down like this at some point before even reading 139 in the table scene, when armin said "is that the freedom you wanted...the freedom to hurt mikasa" he almost broke down 😭😭 eren was always a crybaby, i cant believe the jacket scene and "tatakae" fanservice fooled everyone, Eren was always too emotional. Even when Historia was supposed to eat him, he didn’t care and accepted death before her and the others convinced him to keep going.

If this is what you came up with and its this fucking awesome, i cant even fathom the absolute insanity that GRRM is gonna put to paper and im shitting my pants.
